For over 22 years, IQA has nurtured generations of students, combining rigorous academics, Islamic values, and personalized guidance to develop confident, knowledgeable, and principled leaders.
IQA proudly celebrates 155 students who have memorized the Qur’an, reflecting our commitment to spiritual growth, academic excellence, and nurturing the next generation of Muslim leaders.


In 2024, IQA achieved full accreditation through Cognia™, a global leader in school quality assurance. This recognition affirms our commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering trusted, high-quality Islamic education that prepares students to thrive academically and spiritually.
With 212 graduates to date, IQA has successfully prepared students to excel academically, spiritually, and socially, equipping them to be confident, principled leaders in their communities.

Dr. Yusuf Ziya Kavakci, the former Imam of the Islamic Association of North Texas and co-founder of IQA. is vision is to see an academy devoted to the mission of developing a new generation of American Muslim scholars who are raised within the culture of the United States while possessing knowledge of classical Islamic scholarship, and who can provide leadership for the Muslim Ummah in the 21st century.

Br. Muhammad Al-Amin is an entrepreneur who communicated the vision for IQA to the community, and with his relentless efforts and expertise, put it into action. Br. Muhammad is an passionate supporter of IQA to this date.

Dr. Hanan Almasri is a lifelong learner and educator who continually strives to make a positive impact in the lives of her students and staff through professional leadership. With over 25 years of experience in education, Dr. Almasri has served in various roles, including K-12 Quran and Islamic Studies instructor, Arabic teacher, elementary school teacher, high school academic counselor, secondary dean of Academics, and principal of middle and high school.
Dr. Almasri graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Interdisciplinary Studies in PK-6 education. She completed her Master’s Degree and PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Her research focused on improving the retention of highly qualified teachers in Islamic schools, thereby enhancing the quality of education for students.
Dr. Almasri holds several educator certifications, including Texas Principal Certification (Early Childhood-High School), Early Childhood-6 General Education Certificates, Early Childhood-High School ESL Certification, and Early Childhood Special Education Certification.
Dr. Almasri is driven by her desire to see every student flourish and reach their full potential, and to see our students develop into proud Muslim leaders who possess the knowledge and skills, combined with a strong Islamic character, that enable them to succeed in this world and the hereafter.

Sr. Taghreed is the Vice Principal at IQA with over 22 years of experience in education. She holds a B.S. in Science from the University of Jordan and a Master’s in Teaching Mathematics from UT Dallas, and is Texas-certified in Math (Grades 4–12) as well as T-TESS certified.
Since joining IQA in 2002, Sr. Taghreed has served in diverse roles—from Arabic & Qur’an teacher to teaching middle and high school math to leadership positions such as Secondary Team Lead, School Improvement Chairperson, and Interim Principal—while also coordinating major school events. A proud mother of three IQA alums, two of whom are Huffadh, Sr. Taghreed is passionate about fostering academic excellence and Islamic values. She believes in doing one’s best in everything and striving for excellence, following the example of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
