To develop the next generation of American Muslim Scholars who possess an upright and noble character through integrated training in the religious and contemporary sciences, and who are capable of meeting the modern challenges of our diverse society through guidance, service and leadership.


Accreditation


IQA is one of the few Islamic schools in the country to offer a complete Hifz (Quran memorization) and Alim (Islamic Scholar) program in conjunction with a full academic program (Pre-K -12). IQA is fully accredited by COGNIA and SACS CASI ( the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement)

Visionaries and Founders of IQA

Dr. Yusuf Ziya Kavakci

Dr. Yusuf Ziya Kavakci, the former Imam of the Islamic Association of North Texas and co-founder of IQA. His vision is to see an academy devoted to the mission of developing a new generation of American Muslim scholars who are raised within the culture of the United States while possessing knowledge of classical Islamic scholarship, and who can provide leadership for the Muslim Ummah in the 21st century.

In October 2013, at the age of 75, Dr. Kavakci stepped down from his stellar career and retired in Turkey.

Br. Muhammad Al-Amin

Br. Muhammad Al-Amin is an entrepreneur who communicated the vision for IQA to the community, and with his relentless efforts and expertise, put it into action. Br. Muhammad is an passionate supporter of IQA to this date.  

Muhammad al-Amin graduated from the Harvard Business School in 2008  and currently serves the following positions:

  • Vice President: Islamic Association of North Texas

  • CEO: Versacom LP

Muhammad is happily married to Afreen al-Amin, have three children and live in Richardson, Texas.

Passions include: Orphan and Refugee Support, Da’wah and Outreach


Management Committee

The IQA Management Committee (IQAMC) is equivalent to “School Board” / “Board of Directors” at comparable schools. Its members are unpaid volunteers (parents and non-parents) from our community who bring a variety of talents and professional experience to their positions. IQAMC members are appointed and approved by the Board of Directors (BOD) and Board of Trustees (BOT) at IANT.

PTO Members

The IQA Principal attends all MC meetings as a non-voting member and reports to the MC chair. The IANT Imam is an advisor to the MC. Each member of the board serves a 2-year term that is renewable.
